Our community tuned in to an exclusive live session with real-time demos on the power of cross-platform creation
Earlier this month, SYKY hosted a community-exclusive event with experts from Epic Games and CLO Virtual Fashion on the theme of cross-platform creation for digital fashion. The virtual session explored how CLO3D fashion design software can be integrated with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine and Twinmotion to improve digital design processes, visualization, and storytelling in the fashion industry.
The first half of the session was hosted by CLO Virtual Fashion. The audience of SYKY Community designers was given a live demonstration on using the platform’s USD workflow, which allows for real-time cloth simulation in Unreal Engine, with a step by step for preparing files in CLO3D for export. Features including LiveSync, which transfers assets between CLO3D and Unreal Engine, and EveryWear, which optimizes 3D garments for other platforms and metaverses, were introduced with live walkthroughs.
Epic Games took over for the second half of the SYKY session, with a focus on real-time 3D visualizer, Twinmotion. The showcase presented Twinmotion as an easy tool for creating realistic environments and animations, which designers can use to add context to their digital fashion pieces. A detailed demo covered importing 3D models, applying materials, setting up lighting and environments, and creating animations.
The SYKY session wrapped with a Q&A, which opened up discussion around the wider potential applications of CLO3D, Unreal Engine and Twinmotion in digital fashion design.
